an internet soliloquy

the official eric hanna web

w00t!

So, as you can see from the new layout I've finally gotten around to doing some work for myself and build a new and more useful site. There will be some ongoing work and lack of copy for a little while until I have time to complete everything, but the plan is to have something that lasts at least a couple of years... at least from a standpoint of functionality.

I say functionality because normally I would use my personal website for trying out some CSS or experimantal script, and even though it would have some functions, it was nothing like an orchestrated blog with photo gallery or anything. Now, I feel like the actual USE of the site is important and hope that I can actually get family and friends to use it as a free place to upload and share photos.

Food, Culture… Brooklyn & Beyond

My friend Sara Hohn has started her own site, dedicated to brooklyn eateries and culture as well as her travels. She's a great writer, cook and let's me stay at her place when I'm in NYC.

Her recent trip to Belize sounds awesome, you should check it out.

Soul is Waterproof

Another friend of mine, New Orleanian Megan Milliken has started writing for the site World Changing, and the name pretty much speaks for itself. Their premise:

"that the tools, models and ideas for building a better future lie all around us. That plenty of people are working on tools for change, but the fields in which they work remain unconnected. That the motive, means and opportunity for profound positive change are already present. That another world is not just possible, it's here. We only need to put the pieces together."

Megan's recent articles include: Chicago's Center for Green Technology, America’s Breadbasket to Energy Provider, Chicagoland Flower and Garden Show and And Chicago said, "Let there be light.".

If it's green and/or has anything to do with New Orleans, this cajun knows what's up.

The New School

I am pleased to say that after much work, my wife's school Chicago Montessori has finally found a new location to move into. We've been looking for quite a while, and I can definitely say that there are not many buildings that can be schools that are also available. The ones that are vailable tent to need way more work than we or any investor is interested in getting involved with.
